About the volunteering opportunity
BSV Baden-Württemberg offers a wide range of advice, support and leisure activities relating to visual impairment. With its awareness-raising work, the association is continuously committed to improving the lives of blind and visually impaired people and those at risk of losing their sight.
We would like to go on a hike in the Heilbronn area and spend a nice day together.

Your Tasks
We start the day with a short introduction and then head out into nature. During the walk together, the focus is on communication, i.e. describing the surroundings.
With the help of a ribbon or a so-called walking ball, you accompany a visually impaired person who would otherwise have to use his/her white long cane to find his/her way around. You describe the surroundings so that the person can enjoy the landscape and nature.
When we arrive back, we enjoy a barbecue together.

The excursion takes place together with people with mild to severe visual impairment or blindness. It is important to engage with your partner and communicate well.
