About the volunteering opportunity
The beetle and butterfly groups are to swap rooms. The beetle group moves with all its furniture, toys and materials to the rooms in the basement. In return, the butterfly group will take over the previous rooms of the beetle group. Here too, all of the furniture, toys and materials will be taken with them.
As part of the room change, the vacated rooms will be repainted (whitewashed).

Your Tasks
Tasks in the course of the room change
- Transporting furniture and materials
- Moving furniture, toys and materials from the beetle group to the basement
- Moving furniture, toys and materials for the butterfly group from the basement to the first floor
- Dismantling and reassembling the furniture if required
Painting work
- Covering floors, windows and fixed fixtures
- Whitewashing (painting) of both group rooms
- Cleaning and putting away again after completion of the work
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
- Physical resilience (carrying and transporting furniture)
- Careful and reliable way of working
- Basic knowledge of painting is an advantage, but not essential
- Responsible handling of furniture and materials
What to bring
Please bring: Comfortable and durable clothing that can get dirty (for whitening); sturdy, closed shoes; work gloves

Kindergarten St. Johannes
St. John's Kindergarten has been a focal point for the families of the St. Pius neighborhood since 1958. A total of 61 girls and boys of whom three are cared for in an integrative way. The children, aged 2 ½ to 7 years, from thirteen different countries of the world, are divided into three groups. They come mainly from families who go through life rather quietly due to the lack of language skills. Everyday life with these children and their parents is always enriching and compensating. We learn every day from children and parents what it means to be in search of a safe home! We gladly take on this task out of conviction.
